SCENEGO LEGAL
Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what SceneGo collects, why it is used, how it may be disclosed and retained, and the choices available to members.
1. Scope and responsible party
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through SceneGo’s applications, websites, communications, and related services. It does not govern independent productions, employers, producers, portfolio sites, IMDb, app stores, or other third parties.
Privacy questions and requests may be submitted to support@scenegoapp.com.
2. Information you provide
We collect account and authentication information such as name, email address, encrypted authentication credentials, account identifiers, confirmation status, and security information. We do not receive your plaintext password from Supabase authentication.
We collect profile and professional information you choose to provide, including account mode, roles, biography, country, state or region, city, profile photograph, portfolio images, credits, IMDb links, producer interests, and budget ranges.
We collect project information, including titles, loglines, descriptions, genres, formats, intended content ratings, page counts, estimated budgets, locations, screenplay files, publishing status, saved projects, access requests, approvals, revocations, and access records. Intended content ratings are creator estimates and are not official MPA ratings.
We process communications and safety information, including text messages, shared project cards, conversation participants, timestamps, blocks, reports, report details, moderation decisions, and support communications. SceneGo does not currently offer paid features or process payments.
3. Information collected automatically
Our infrastructure providers process technical data needed to operate and secure SceneGo, such as device and browser information, operating system, app version, IP address, authentication events, crash information, diagnostic logs, and security events. SceneGo asks members to type profile location rather than requiring precise device location.
SceneGo records service activity needed for its features, including saves, screenplay access requests and decisions, message timestamps and read state, reports, blocks, and account update dates. Local storage is used to maintain sessions and app state.
4. How information is used
We use information to create and authenticate accounts; display profiles and public project information; store private screenplays; process access decisions; enable discovery, messaging, and saves; provide support; and maintain member settings.
We use information to operate search and filters; maintain reliability; diagnose errors; protect accounts; investigate spam, fraud, infringement, and abuse reports; enforce policies; preserve evidence; and comply with legal obligations.
We send transactional email for account confirmation, password resets, password or email changes, and account administration. SceneGo does not currently send marketing or push notifications. We do not use private screenplay text to train generative artificial-intelligence models.
5. Public, restricted, and private information
Profile names, photographs, roles, biography, general location, credits, links, producer interests, and published project fields may be visible to other members as indicated in the Service. Do not publish information you want to remain confidential.
Screenplay files are intended to remain restricted to the owner, authorized service personnel where necessary, and members whom the owner approves, subject to safety, security, support, and legal access. Access logs may identify who requested, received, opened, or lost access.
Messages are visible to conversation participants and may be processed for delivery, abuse prevention, reported-content review, technical support, and legal compliance. They are not end-to-end encrypted.
6. Disclosure of information
We disclose information to service providers that support cloud hosting, database operation, authentication, file storage, transactional email, app building and distribution, diagnostics, and security. These providers process information to deliver their services to SceneGo.
We disclose information according to your actions—for example, when you publish a profile or project, approve screenplay access, message another member, share a project card, or link to IMDb. Recipients may independently retain information they receive.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect rights, safety, and security; investigate violations; prevent fraud; establish or defend legal claims; or complete a business transfer subject to appropriate protections.
SceneGo does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Service providers and international processing
SceneGo uses Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage; Expo and EAS for app development and builds; Apple for iOS distribution; and Resend for transactional account email. Each provider maintains its own terms and privacy practices.
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.
8. Retention and deletion
Account, profile, project, screenplay, photo, and message records remain while the account is active unless the member removes content or deletes the account.
Account deletion may be initiated in Settings and permanently removes the authentication account, profile, projects, screenplay files, photos, messages, saves, access records, and blocks associated with that account. Reports and limited safety or legal records may retain de-identified references where necessary to protect members, investigate abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with law. Infrastructure backups may take additional time to expire.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including authenticated access, database access controls, private storage rules, transport encryption, and role-based moderation access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur.
Protect your password, use a secure device, review access decisions carefully, and notify us of suspected compromise. SceneGo will maintain an incident-response process and provide legally required notices of qualifying breaches.
10. Your choices and controls
You may edit profile information, change available account modes, publish or unpublish projects, approve or revoke screenplay access, remove portfolio photos, block members, and permanently delete your account through the Service. Some actions cannot retrieve information already copied or independently retained by another person.
You may decline optional photo-library access through device settings. Core account and project information may be necessary to provide requested features. Transactional account and legal notices cannot always be disabled while an account remains active.
11. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on residence and applicable thresholds, you may have rights to know or access personal information; receive a portable copy; correct inaccuracies; delete information; opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit certain uses of sensitive information; and appeal a denied request. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.
SceneGo does not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals where applicable to our web services. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted, subject to verification.
We may verify requests by confirming control of an account or email and may deny or limit requests where an exception applies, identity cannot be verified, or the request would adversely affect another person’s rights. We will explain available appeal options when required.
12. California disclosures
California residents may request information about categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, sources, purposes, categories of recipients, and applicable sale or sharing; request correction or deletion; and exercise applicable opt-out or sensitive-information limitation rights without unlawful discrimination.
The categories described in this Policy may include identifiers; customer-record information; commercial information; internet or electronic-network activity; approximate geolocation; audio, electronic, visual, or similar information; professional information; account credentials; message contents where SceneGo is not the intended recipient; and inferences derived from activity. Whether a category is legally “sensitive” depends on content and context.
SceneGo does not offer financial incentives for personal information. California “Shine the Light” requests and applicable privacy requests may be sent to support@scenegoapp.com. This section does not concede that SceneGo meets every statutory applicability threshold.
13. Teen users and children
SceneGo is available only to people age thirteen (13) and older. A member who is under the age of legal majority where they live must have a parent or legal guardian review and agree to the Terms and supervise the member’s use of SceneGo. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen.
Account creation requires a user to confirm that they are at least thirteen. SceneGo records the confirmation but does not ask the user to provide or store a full birth date. If we learn that a child under thirteen supplied personal information or created an account, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information and terminate the account. Parents or guardians may contact support@scenegoapp.com.
Teen members should avoid posting a home address, school schedule, financial information, government identifier, or other highly sensitive information. Parents or guardians should supervise communications and be involved before any in-person meeting, audition, contract, payment, travel arrangement, or transfer of creative rights.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as the Service, vendors, or law changes. Material changes will be communicated through the Service, email, or another reasonable method, and consent will be requested when required. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version.
Privacy requests and questions may be sent to support@scenegoapp.com.
